On May 18 and 19, 2023, a Congress Halal Quality was held in Sarajevo in Hills Hotel, Ilidža. The Congress was attended by the world's leading experts in the field of halal industry, business and academia from Turkey, England, Switzerland, USA, Thailand, Germany, Croatia, India, Indonesia, North Macedonia, Poland, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The organizers of the Congress were Bosna Bank International (BBI) and the Halal Quality Certification Agency, whose representative is a member of the Technical Committee BAS/TC 43, Food, who participated in developing and publishing the first halal standard BAS 1049.

On behalf of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Biljana Baljaj, technical secretary of BAS/TC 43 and Željka Popić, senior expert for conformity assessment attended the Congress.
