Conference “Current Status and Further Development of Eurocodes in the Western Balkans”
On May 29, 2018, the Conference “Current Status and Further Development of Eurocodes in the Western Balkans” was organized by the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BAS) in cooperation with the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing, with the support of the Czech Republic Development Agency.
It is the final conference of the project “Support to the capacities of the Institute for Standardization of BiH in the field of application of Eurocodes”.
The conference presented the results of the project, which is one of the steps of Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to the European Union, given that in 2010 the European Commission issued an order that all member states must fully implement the Eurocodes.
Representatives of the national standardization bodies of Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Moldova, Albania, Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed the current status and further development of Eurocodes. Also, they talked about the new generation of Eurocodes, as well as the comparison of Nationally Determined Parameters (NDPs).
The conference was also attended by the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in BiH, state and entity ministries, institutions, civil engineering faculties, and private and public companies.
