From 12-13 November 2015, in Mostar, a two-day Conference was held which was opened by the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović. Opening the Conference, Čović reminded those present on the commitment of BiH towards European integration.

Chairman of the BiH Presidency said that it is his wish to send a clear message through the conclusions from this Conference that we simply need to go hand in hand with European standards.

Naida Memić, Director of marketing agency “Sfera” Ltd, which is the organizer of this Conference, said that the purpose of the two-day event is to exchange knowledge and experience in various fields of engineering, as well as opening the possibility of establishing international and domestic cooperation.

The purpose of this Conference is to introduce participants to the possibilities of obtaining grants from the EU, with innovations in manufacturing facades and aluminum profiles as well as the innovations regarding glass and the European method of installation, explained Memić.

Attendees were addressed by Mr  Milenko Stanković , Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Banja Luka who is also a partner in the organization of the Conference.

The Head of the Department for Energy Efficiency of the Federal Ministry of Physical Planning, Ms Jasmina Katica held a presentation on “Legal Framework in the FBiH” concerning the energy efficiency with a special emphasis on the obligations of signatory countries of the Energy Community Treaty regarding the following three steps:

• Creation of an integrated market in natural gas and electricity, which will operate in accordance with the EU energy market standards
• Transposition of the provisions of the EU Directives relating to energy efficiency into national legislation and
• Reduction of final energy consumption by 9% in the period 2011-2018 compared to 2010 and in that regard development of a specific action plans for the achievement of the set objective.

Borislav Kraljević, Deputy Director and Hafiza Zametica, Senior Associate, participated at the Conference on behalf of the Institute for Standardization of BiH. They thanked the organizers and presented the Institute with reference to the initiative of the establishment of a new a Technical Committee BAS/TC 60, Doors and windows and invited  attendees to take part in their activities.
